We have now successfully completed our first preliminary piece of work. We (Me, Laura, Owen and Matt) filmed our piece three times due to shortage of shots, angles and techniques. Our final film has a variety of all these three: close ups, over the shoulder shots, high angles, 180° rule.
When we started filming we all had different ideas of what to do and we put all of them together to see what it would come out like, which didn't really work. We did lots of high angle shot and it ended up looking very disjointed. We all then decided we should film it again and get more shots into the film. -Owen and Laura acted in this film, they each filmed each other when they weren't in the shot together and Matt and I filmed the rest.
The second film was slightly better than the first with different shots and angles but not 180° rule which we all knew was a vital part of the film. We then couldn't add this into the shot as we were using two people who were not part of our group and it was difficult to get them together at the same time and in the same room. Therefore we decided to film and third and final time, getting it all perfect.
This time we used Matt (a member of our group) and Naomi (A girl in our media class). The rest of us filmed. This film turned out to be the best one, we used all the shots, angles and techniques which were necessary for the film, it also helped us in making it longer than the previous films we had done. We then edited the film to the best shots, as we filmed each three times or more so that we got it exactly how we wanted. The end product came out really well and the only thing I think our group could have worked on is communication as we were all over the place at points of filming.
