Next Project

We are now starting to make two - three minutes of the beginning of a film. I brain stormed ideas for my film and decided to base it on a 'good girl' who turns bad, she starts to steal. I have story boarded the scene and scripted it so far.

Evaluation

We have now successfully completed our first preliminary piece of work. We (Me, Laura, Owen and Matt) filmed our piece three times due to shortage of shots, angles and techniques. Our final film has a variety of all these three: close ups, over the shoulder shots, high angles, 180° rule.

When we started filming we all had different ideas of what to do and we put all of them together to see what it would come out like, which didn't really work. We did lots of high angle shot and it ended up looking very disjointed. We all then decided we should film it again and get more shots into the film. -Owen and Laura acted in this film, they each filmed each other when they weren't in the shot together and Matt and I filmed the rest.

The second film was slightly better than the first with different shots and angles but not 180° rule which we all knew was a vital part of the film. We then couldn't add this into the shot as we were using two people who were not part of our group and it was difficult to get them together at the same time and in the same room. Therefore we decided to film and third and final time, getting it all perfect.

This time we used Matt (a member of our group) and Naomi (A girl in our media class). The rest of us filmed. This film turned out to be the best one, we used all the shots, angles and techniques which were necessary for the film, it also helped us in making it longer than the previous films we had done. We then edited the film to the best shots, as we filmed each three times or more so that we got it exactly how we wanted. The end product came out really well and the only thing I think our group could have worked on is communication as we were all over the place at points of filming.

Starting again (again)

When we put the second film together we realsised we hadn't used enough different shots. So we've started to record for our third and final time. This time we've thought about it a lot more and we are going to use more shots and angles than before.

Starting again

The film didn't turn out as well as we had hoped so we all decided we should do it again. This time, so all of us got a chance to film more than last time we used Matt Bingham and Luke Thomas (friends). It took us a little less time and looked better than the first.

Starting our filming

Today we started our filming. Getting all the angles and shots in the right place so they looked good when it's all put together was really difficult. Owen and Laura were in the film, so Matt and I did most of the filming and Laura and Owen filmed bits when they weren't in the shot together.

Planning the film

We got into our groups and we discussed how we wanted to film it, what shots we would use and who would be in it. we then all made story boards. Before we did this we looked at the different types of camera angles and shots. This made it a lot easier to decide what shots and angles we would use and how it would look effective.
